OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT (OHRA) TEMPLATE Occupational Health Risk Assessment is not only a legal duty but also good for business. Avoiding and reducing risks reduces work-related accidents and health problems, leading to cost benefits and improved productivity. It is a dynamic process that allows companies and organisations to put in place a proactive policy for managing occupational risks. This template is designed for safety officers, EHS managers, and employers who handle hazardous chemicals and substances in the workplace. It follows the structured five-step OSH methodology endorsed by EU-OSHA and integrates directly with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management to give you a complete, audit-ready risk assessment record. 01 OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT (OHRA) TEMPLATE Note: The templates/guides in our Content Library were created by the SDS Manager Team to help you manage site operations effectively. The employer can delegate this function, but not the responsibility, to occupational health and safety specialists or occupational physicians. A hazard is a source or situation with the potential to cause injury and ill health, or an adverse effect on the physical, mental or cognitive condition of a person. A risk is the combination of the likelihood of occurrence of a work-related hazardous event or exposure, and the severity of injury or ill health that can be caused by the event or exposure. Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels to identify chemicals with low exposure limits, high volatility, or those used in large quantities or unventilated spaces. Identify activities that may result in skin exposure to chemicals. Identify physical hazards, including excessive noise, elevated heat, and sources of radiation. Identify biological hazards such as infectious diseases, moulds, or toxic plants.
