ABOUT SDS MANAGER

The safety software company that’s built to outlast your next audit — and your next decade.

Chemical safety is a long game. Regulations evolve, suppliers change, people come and go — but your compliance record has to hold. That’s why we’ve built SDS Manager the same way we’ve built our company for 30 years: profitable, independent, and here for the long term.

WHY IT MATTERS

Software vendors come and go. Your safety records can’t.

When you choose a chemical safety platform, you’re not buying features — you’re choosing the company that will hold your compliance history, train your workforce, and answer the phone when a regulator does. So before we tell you what our software does, here’s what we think you should know about us:

We’re profitable and self-funded. No venture capital, no outside investors, no burn rate. We answer to our customers, not a cap table.

We’re owner-operated. Founded and still owned by Erlend Bruvik. The person who started this company 30 years ago still runs it today.

We’re not for sale, and we do not intend to be. No exit plan means no surprise acquisition, no sunset notice, no forced migration.

We’re independently audited. ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, 27018 and ISO 9001 — certified, not self-declared.

Everything else on this page is the evidence.

OUR STORY

Thirty years, four chapters

1

1995 — The beginning.

Erlend Bruvik founds Aston Technology in Norway as an IT consultancy. It doesn’t stay a consultancy for long — clients keep asking for software that doesn’t exist yet, so we start building it. That instinct — see a real need, build a real product — still drives everything we ship.

2

1998 — Learning what “mission-critical” means.

Erlend launches Stocknet, one of Norway’s first online stockbroking services, live on the Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Frankfurt exchanges. When people’s money moves through your software in real time, you learn lessons about speed, reliability and trust that never leave you. We’ve applied them to safety software ever since — because the stakes there are even higher.

3

2000s — Into health & safety.

Industrial clients ask us for help managing safety and compliance, and we find a market with plenty of paperwork but almost no good software. We build custom HSE solutions throughout the decade, and in 2006 we bring NetPower into the group as our dedicated software house. By 2010 the custom work has matured into a full quality-management product suite — document management, deviation handling, risk assessment, chemical management — in daily use across Norwegian industry. Over the following years we keep building on that foundation, module by module, into a complete suite of EHS products covering audits and inspections, incident management and risk.

4

2020 — SDS Manager goes global.

Two decades of chemical-safety experience, rebuilt as a modern platform for the world: SDS management, SDS authoring, distribution for retailers, and chemical inventory — in 35 languages, in 50+ countries, priced so that a five-person workshop and a five-thousand-person enterprise can both afford to be safe. And because chemical safety never lives in isolation, SDS Manager offers our EHS modules on the same platform — audit & inspection, incident management and risk management, available as an add-on that works natively with your SDS library, not bolted on from somewhere else.

WHO STANDS BEHIND THE PRODUCT

Independent. Profitable. European-owned. Built to last.

SDS Manager is part of NetPower IT Group, a privately-held European technology group founded and owned by Erlend Bruvik — headquartered in Norway, with operating companies in the United States, Vietnam and Bangladesh and 160 specialists who have built enterprise software for the quality, health, safety and environment sectors for three decades.

In 2025 the group’s revenues exceeded $10 million USD — and every dollar of profit was reinvested into our products and our people. We have no venture capital and no outside investors, which means no pressure to raise prices, cut support, or dress the company up for an acquisition.

We are not for sale, and we do not intend to be. We know how it feels when a trusted vendor gets acquired and the product you depend on loses its roadmap. That will not happen here — you have the owner’s word on it, in writing, on this page.

Built by the same group:

…all built and operated by NetPower IT Group — proof that the productify philosophy is more than words.

HOW WE BUILD

Productify. Reinvest. Repeat.

Our philosophy is simple: wherever our customers face a real safety need, we turn it into a product — well-built, well-supported, priced fairly, and available to everyone rather than only those who can afford a bespoke project.

Then we take what the product earns and put it back to work: deepening the products we already ship, building new products in adjacent areas of safety and compliance, and entering new markets where the same problems need solving. It’s how a Norwegian quality-management suite in 2010 became a global SDS platform in 2020 — and it’s how today’s SDS Manager becomes whatever our customers need us to be next.

You benefit twice: today, from software with the depth only decades of focus can produce; and tomorrow, from a roadmap funded by customers who use the product — not by an investor’s exit timeline.

PARTNERSHIPS

The SDS engine behind the EHS industry

Our position in the EHS ecosystem is unusual: we’re not just a vendor in it — we’re infrastructure for it.

Integration partner. SDS Manager integrates with SafetyCulture, the frontline inspection and safety platform, so SDS and chemical data flows directly into the workflows your teams already run.

The platform other EHS companies build on. Leading EHS and compliance software providers rely on SDS Manager’s database to give their own clients access to Safety Data Sheets — sourced, parsed and structured at scale by our platform:

…and a number of others. When the industry’s own software companies need safety data sheets found, parsed and structured at scale, they come to us. We think that’s the strongest endorsement we can offer: the people who know this industry best choose our engine to power their products.

TRUST, VERIFIED

Don’t take our word for it. Take the auditors’.

Anyone can claim their software is secure and their processes are solid. We pay independent auditors to verify it, every year:

Certification is the floor, not the ceiling. Beyond the annual audits, we run monthly security reviews of our entire codebase — using both independent tooling and AI-assisted analysis (including Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI’s Codex) to catch issues before they ever reach production. Every release ships from a codebase that has been reviewed more recently than most vendors’ last annual pentest.
