OSHA HCS 2012 EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: Clear solution with no appreciable odor. Causes eye irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction.

Potential health effects

Eyes: Contact with eyes will cause tearing, pain, reddening and irritation. Skin: Contact with skin may irritate and redden exposed tissue. Prolonged or repeated skin contact can cause allergy-like symptoms (e.g. dermatitis). Inhalation: Inhalation of mist may irritate the nose, throat, and exposed mucous membranes. Ingestion: Ingestion may irritate the throat, esophagus and other tissues of the digestive system. Preexisting Conditions: Preexisting respiratory and skin conditions may be aggravated by exposure.

Prevention

Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not breathe mist. Contaminated work clothing must not be allowed out of the workplace. Wear protective gloves.

Response

If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists Get medical attention. If on skin Wash with plenty of water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical attention. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Continued on next page
