2.1 Classification of the substance or mixture
Ball clay is of low acute toxicity but does contain free quartz. Ensure that atmospheric dust levels are maintained such that the amount of respirable quartz in the atmosphere is <0.3 mg/m³. Long term exposure to excessive levels of any mineral dust can lead to respiratory problems.
