SECTION 2: Hazards identification
OSHA 2.1 Overview This product is a battery with the GHS Label: Valve Regulated Lead Acid Battery, Non-Spillable. Under normal conditions, this product is sealed and does not leak or vent gasses or hazardous substances. There is no contact with the internal components of the battery or the chemical hazards under normal product use and handling. In the absence of an accident or incident, the classifications below are not likely to apply. Nevertheless, this Safety Data Sheet (SDS) contains valuable information critical to the safe handling and proper use of this product. This SDS should be retained and made available to employees and other users of this product. The information in the classifications below in Section 2.2 and Section 2.3 apply to contact with discharged sulfuric battery electrolyte, which could occur during an accident or incident. This could occur under severe over- charge conditions where there may be venting of sulfuric acid gas and could also occur when hazards are presented during reclamation (recycling).
