SECTION 2: Hazards identification
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: If caused to dust, this material has inert or nuisance dust limits. Read above ingredient limit levels. Prolonged overexposure to dusts may cause lung damage. This product is under TCLP limits. This material contains low levels of naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM). EYE CONTACT: Dust may irritate eyes. Contact with dust or slurry may be abrasive and irritating causing tearing and redness. SKIN CONTACT: Not absorbed through skin. Contact with broken skin may be severely irritating and result in redness, burning, swelling and skin damage. INHALATION: Breathing dust may result in irritation of the nose and throat. If airborne concentrations exceed established exposure limits, a suitable filter type respirator should be worn. In order to limit exposure to NORM, production workers should wear appropriate disposable face masks when conditions are dusty, such as during clean-up and equipment malfunction. INGESTION: All accidental ingestion of dust or slurry may cause irritation of the digestive tract.
