Hazard statements
Catches fire spontaneously if exposed to air. In contact with water releases flammable gases which may ignite spontaneously. Causes eye irritation. Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
Prevention
Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Do not allow contact with air. Do not allow contact with water. Handle and store contents under inert gas. Protect from moisture. Keep container tightly closed. Wash skin thoroughly after handling. Avoid release to the environment. Wear protective gloves/ protective clothing/ eye protection/ face pro- tection.
Response
IF ON SKIN: Brush off loose particles from skin. Immerse in cool wa- ter. IF ON SKIN: Brush off loose particles from skin. Immerse in cool water or wrap in wet bandages. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/ attention. In case of fire: Use dry sand, dry chemical or alcohol-resistant foam to extinguish. Collect spillage.
Storage
Store in a dry place. Store in a closed container.
Disposal
Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal plant.
Other hazards which do not result in classification
None known.
