SECTION 2: Hazards identification

Product definition

This product is a clear, colorless, odorless aqueous solution. Health The main health hazard in a workplace setting is expected to be irritation of skin, eyes and respiratory system Accidental ingestion may be harmful. In therapeutic use, the most common adverse effects for single doses of this product have been headache, injection site reactions, flushing, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, somnolence, diarrhea, anorexia, fever, pharyngitis, hyperaesthesia, influenza-like symptoms, and coughing. In addition, constipation was reported by patients who had received repeated doses of IV Mesna. See Section 11 (Toxicological Information) for more information on other possible therapeutic use effects. Flammability Hazards: If involved in a fire, this material may decompose to produce toxic gases (e.g., carbon, nitrogen and sodium oxides and hydrogen fluoride). Reactivity Negligible.
