Further information
The full wording of the R phrases, hazard statements and EU hazard statements can be found in section 16. This product contains respirable quartz as an impurity and is therefore classified as STOT RE2 under the criteria defined in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and, because of the potential for the formation of airborne respirable crystalline silica, as a dangerous preparation pursuant to Directive 67/548/EEC. Depending on how the product is handled and used (e.g. grinding, drying), it may lead to the formation of airborne respirable crystalline silica (quartz/cristobalite). Prolonged and / or intensive inhalation of respirable crystalline silica can lead to silicosis. The main symptoms of silicosis are coughing and respiratory problems / shortness of breath. In the event of sporadic exposure to respirable crystalline silica, suitable protective and monitoring measures should be available. Special care must be taken during handling of the product to avoid dust formation. If the binding agent comes into contact with water or becomes moist, it forms a strongly alkaline solution. As a result of the high alkalinity, moist binding agents can cause inflammation of the skin and eyes. Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008: Caution: STOT RE2 H373: May cause damage to the lungs through prolonged or repeated exposure by inhalation.

The number of months for which the product remains low in chromate after the manufacturing date, if stored properly in a dry place, is stated on the delivery note or on the paper bags.
2.3 Other hazards
The binding agent does not meet the criteria for PBT or vPvB in accordance with Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. The product contains chromate reducing agents, leading to a water-soluble chromium (VI) content of less than 0.0002%. In the event of incorrect storage (ingress of moisture) or storage for too long, the contained chromate reducing agents may prematurely lose their effectiveness, and the binding agent may have a sensitizing effect on contact with skin (R43/H317 or EUH203).
