Potential health effects
Symptoms of cholinesterase inhibition can include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, weakness, nausea, cramps, diarrhea, discomfort in the chest, nervousness, sweating, miosis (pinpoint pupils), tearing, salivation, pulmonary edema, uncontrollable muscle twitches, convulsions, cyanosis, coma and loss of reflexes and sphincter control. If swallowed and aspirated into the lungs, chemical pneumonia can occur. Eye and skin contact can cause irritation. 5. Fire and Explosion Data 1 - Flash point > 62°C - Extinguishing media Use dry chemical, foam or CO2. - Special fire fighting procedures Wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus. Evacuate non-essential personnel from the area to prevent human exposure to fire, smoke, fumes or products of combustion. Prevent use of contaminated buildings, area and equipment until decontaminated. If water is used to fight fire, dike area to contain run-off and prevent contamination of water supplies. 6. Mammalian Toxicity Data - Acute oral LD50 For rats 2083, mice 133 – 225, guinea pigs 417 – 592 mg/kg. - Acute dermal LD50 For rats > 3583, rabbits 900 – 1083 mg/kg. - Acute inhalation LC50 (4 h) for rats 3883 mg/m3. - Eye effects Non-irritant. - Skin effects Non-irritant. - Toxicity class WHO Class III 7.

If symptoms of cholinesterase inhibition are present, atropine sulphate by injection is antidotal. 2-PAM is also antidotal and may be administered but only in conjunction with atropine. Gastric lavage may be indicated if product was taken internally. 9. Employee Protection Recommendations - Eye protection Where there is significant potential for eye contact, wear chemical goggles and have eye flushing equipment available. - Skin protection Wear appropriate protective clothing and chemical resistant gloves to prevent skin contact. Consult glove manufacturer to determine appropriate type of glove for given application. Wear face shield and chemical resistant clothing such as a rubber apron when splashing is likely. Wash contaminated skin promptly. Launder contaminated clothing and clean protective equipment before use. Wash thoroughly after handling. Chemical cartridge respirator with an organic - Respirator requirements vapour cartridge(s) in combination with a dust and mist filter. Provide natural or mechanical ventilation to - Ventilation requirements control exposure levels below airborne exposure limits. If practical, use local mechanical exhaust ventilation at sources of air contamination such as open process equipment. Appropriate protective gloves made of rubber, - Additional protective measures neoprene or nitrile. 10. Reactivity Data - Stability Stable under normal temperatures and pressures. - Incompatibilities Incompatible with copper-containing compounds. - Decomposition Thermal decomposition products include, but are not limited to, various aliphatic organosphosphate, substituted pyrimidines and hydrogen cyanide. 11. Spill and Leak Procedures Small spill: While wearing rubber gloves, soak up spilled material with paper towels and discard in trash. Large spill: Liquid spills on floor or other impervious surfaces should be contained or 3 diked and should be absorbed with attapulgite, bentonite or other absorbent clays. Collect contaminated absorbent, place in plastic-lined metal drum and dispose of in accordance with instructions. Thoroughly scrub floor or other impervious surface with a strong industrial type detergent solution and rinse with water. Leaking containers should be separated from non-leakers and either the container or its contents transferred to a drum or other non- leaking container and disposed of in accordance with instructions. Any recovered spilled liquid should be similarly collected and disposed of. Do not contaminate water, foodstuff or feed by storage or disposal. 12. Handling and Storage - Handling precaution KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN When handling and spraying the product, wear duty working clothes, cap, gloves, glasses and mask to avoid contact with skin, eyes and inhalation of dust, fog and vapours. After work thoroughly wash hands, face and possible exposed areas of body and change clothing. - Storage precaution Keep containers tightly closed and store in a cool, dark and dry place. During storage, protect from contact with acids. Bulk storage of this product should be in stainless steel tanks which are fitted with a conservation vent to prevent free exchange between the tank and the atmosphere. 13. Containers which held this material may be cleaned by being tripled- rinsed, and recycled, with the rinsate being incinerated. Do not cut or weld metal containers. Vapours that form may create an explosion hazard. 14. Transport Information Shippers must give transporters a transport precautionary instruction at the time of shipping the product. Check the leakage of containers before loading. Make sure to load containers correctly to prevent them from falling down. Follow all regulations with regard to transporting chemicals in your country. 15. Regulatory Information Follow all regulations in your country. 16.
