Precautionary statements

P201 - Obtain special instructions before use P202 - Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. P280 - Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, and eye protection. P308+P313 - If exposed or concerned: Get medical advice/attention. P405 - Store locked up. P501 - Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local, regional, national, territorial, provincial, and international regulations.

2.3 Other hazards

If product is in liquid or paste form, physical or health hazards listed related to dust are not considered significant. However, product may contain substances that could be potential hazards if caused to become airborne due to grinding, sanding or other abrasive processes. For particulates and dust: Repeated or prolonged exposure to respirable (airborne) crystalline silica dust will cause lung damage in the form of silicosis. Symptoms will include progressively more difficult breathing, cough, fever, and weight loss. Crystalline silica exists in several forms, the most common of which is quartz. If crystalline silica (quartz) is heated to more than 870°C (1598 °F), it can change to a form of crystalline silica known as trydimite, and if crystalline silica (quartz) is heated to more than 1470°C (2678 °F), it can change to a form of crystalline silica known as cristobalite. The OSHA PEL for crystalline silica as trydimite and cristobalite is one-half of the OSHA PEL for crystalline silica (quartz). Repeated or prolonged exposure to titanium dioxide dust via inhalation is suspected of causing cancer of the respiratory tract.
