Toxic by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed. Toxic: danger of very serious irreversible effects through inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed. Occupational exposure to the substance or mixture may cause adverse health effects.
Environmental hazards
Not classified as an environmental hazard. Specific hazards Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness. May cause abdominal discomfort if swallowed. In serious cases absorption of methanol in the body may lead to damage to the eyesight. Even small amounts (30-250 ml methanol) may be fatal. Symptoms are stomach ache, nausea, vomiting, dullness, visual disorder and blindness. Prolonged skin contact may cause dermatitis. Main symptoms Contact may cause irritation with redness, tearing, pain, and/or blurred vision. Symptoms may include redness, drying and cracking of the skin. Drowsiness and dizziness. Headache, nausea, weakness. Visual disturbances including blurred vision.
