2.3 Other hazards
This substance/mixture contains no components considered to be either persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT), or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB) at levels of 0.1% or higher. Although the cell lines are not known to contain any agents capable of harm humans the possibility of a contaminant, adventitious virus can rarely be excluded. Therefore, it is recommended that all animal / human cell lines are handled at Biosafety Level 2 containment [United States Government Publication "Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) 5th Edition" (CDC, 2009).]
