Prevention
P201 Obtain special instructions before use. P202 Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. P210 Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. P233 Keep container tightly closed. P241 Use explosion-proof electrical/ ventilating/ lighting equip- ment. P242 Use non-sparking tools. P243 Take action to prevent static discharges. P261 Avoid breathing dust/ fume/ gas/ mist/ vapours/ spray. P264 Wash skin thoroughly after handling. P271 Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. P273 Avoid release to the environment. P280 Wear protective gloves/ protective clothing/ eye protection/ face protection.
Response
P301 + P310 IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER/ doctor. P302 + P352 IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water and soap. Disposal
P501 Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste dis- posal plant.
Other hazards which do not result in classification
Liquid evaporates quickly and can ignite leading to a flash fire, or an explosion in a confined space. This material is a static accumulator. Even with proper grounding and bonding, this material can still accumulate an electrostatic charge. If sufficient charge is allowed to accumulate, electrostatic discharge and ignition of flammable air- vapour mixtures can occur. Electrostatic charges may be generated during pumping. Electrostatic discharge may cause fire. This product contains tetraethyl lead which is known to accumulate in the human body. There are indications from human epidemiological studies that exposure to tetraethyl lead may cause de- velopmental and neurobehavioral effects in the unborn child.
