Signal word
Danger
Physical hazards
H220 Extremely flammable gas. H280 Contains gas under pressure; may explode if heated.
Health hazards
H350 May cause cancer. H340 May cause genetic defects. H360 May damage fertility or the unborn child. H332 Harmful if inhaled. H373 May cause damage to organs through prolonged or re- peated exposure.
Environmental hazards
Not classified as an environmental hazard under GHS criteria.
Precautionary statements
P102 Keep out of reach of children.
Prevention
P201 + P202 Obtain special instructions before use. Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and under- stood. P210 Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. No smoking. P260 Do not breathe dust/ fume/ gas/ mist/ vapours/ spray. P261 Avoid breathing dust/ fume/ gas/ mist/ vapours/ spray. P271 Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. P280 Wear protective gloves/ protective clothing/ eye protection/ face protection.
Response
P304 + P340 IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. P308 + P313 IF exposed or concerned: Get medical advice/ attention. P312 Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/ physician if you feel unwell. P377 Leaking gas fire: Do not extinguish, unless leak can be stopped safely. P381 Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so.
Storage
P410 + P403 Protect from sunlight. Store in a well-ventilated place. P405 Store locked up.
Disposal
P501 Dispose of contents and container to appropriate waste site or reclaimer in accordance with local and national regula- tions.
Other hazards which do not result in classification
Vapours are heavier than air. Vapours may travel across the ground and reach remote ignition sources causing a flashback fire danger. This material has the potential to be a static accumulator. Electrostatic charges may be generated during pumping. Electrostatic discharge may cause fire. High gas concentrations will displace available air; unconsciousness and death may occur sud- denly from lack of oxygen. This product contains benzene which may cause leukaemia (AML - acute myelogenous leukae- mia). May cause MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). Hydrogen sulphide (H2S), an extremely flammable and toxic gas, and other hazardous vapours may evolve and collect in the headspace of storage tanks, transport vessels and other enclosed containers. The classification of this material is based on OSHA HCS 2012 criteria.
