Exposure to the substance may aggravate pre-existing medical conditions, as hypersensitivity to material, allergies, asthma, history of bleeding or gastrointestinal disorders and impaired kidney function. Cross-sensitivity reactions: individuals sensitive to penicillins, cephalosporins or cefamicine may be sensitive to this substance too; in particular serious and occasionally fatal hypersensibility (anaphylactoid) reactions have been reported in patients treated with penicillin. Particular care should be taken with intravenous administration because of the possibility of thrombophlebitis. Penicillins are excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when the substance is administered to a nursing woman. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes.
