Potential health effects
Eye: Contact can cause possible blindness. Corrosive. Can cause eye burns and permanent tissue damage. Skin: Causes skin burns. Prolonged or repeated contact can result in defatting and drying of the skin which may result in skin irritation and dermatitis (rash). Corrosive, causes permanent skin damage (scarring). Ingestion: May cause central nervous system depression. Harmful or fatal if liquid is aspirated into lungs. Harmful if swallowed. Overexposure may cause nausea, diarrhea, and/or vomiting. Corrosive and may cause severe and permanent damage to mouth, throat, and stomach. Inhalation: May cause severe burns and tissue damage to the upper respiratory tract. Prolonged exposure to large concentrations can result in loss of teeth, chemical pneumonitis and possible loss of consciousness and/or severe lung damage. Dust/mist irritates nose and throat.
