SECTION 2: Hazards identification
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: Causes severe skin and eye burns. Harmful if swallowed. Causes eye burns. Causes skin irritation. May cause allergic skin reaction. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - EYE CONTACT: Extremely irritating to the eyes and may cause severe damage, including blindness. Causes eye burns. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - SKIN CONTACT: Causes skin burns. Contact causes skin irritation. May cause skin sensitization, an allergic reaction, which becomes evident on re-exposure to this material. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - INHALATION: High vapor concentrations are irritating to the eyes, nose, throat and lungs. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - INGESTION: Can burn mouth, throat and stomach. Aspiration hazard if swallowed; can enter lungs and cause damage. EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE - CHRONIC HAZARDS: High concentrations may lead to central nervous system effects (drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, headaches, paralysis, and blurred vision) and/or damage.
