SECTION 2: Hazards identification
Emergency overview: Avoid contact with eyes.
Principle Routes of Exposure
Eye, Skin, Inhalation, Ingestion EFFECTS OF ACUTE EXPOSURE: Eye Contact: Vapours or mists may cause eye irritation. Corneal injury is unlikely. Skin Contact: Brief contact is essentially non-irritating to skin. Prolonged contact may cause slight skin irritation with local redness. Repeated skin exposure to large quantities may result in absorption of harmful amounts. Massive contact with damaged skin or if material sufficiently hot to burn skin may result in absorption of potential lethal amounts. Inhalation: At room temperature, exposure to vapor is minimal due to low volatility. With good ventilation, single exposure is not expected to cause adverse effects. If material is heated or areas are poorly ventilated, vapor/mist may accumulate and cause respiratory irritation and symptoms such as headache and nausea. Ingestion: May cause abdominal discomfort or pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, malaise, blurring of vision, irritability, lumbar pain, oliguria, uremia, and central nervous system effects, including irregular eye movements, convulsions and coma. Cardiac failure, pulmonary edema, and severe kidney damage may develop. May be fatal if swallowed.
