2.3 Other hazards
Fine dust clouds may form explosive mixtures with air. Handling and/or processing of this material may generate a dust which can cause mechanical irritation of the eyes, skin, nose and throat. Exposure to large concentration of air-borne dust of this material may cause mechanical irritation of the mucous membranes and respiratory tract. The product is very absorbent and may have a drying effect on skin and eyes. When exceeding the OEL (Occupational Exposure Limit) a mechanical overburdening of the respiratory system is possible.
Prevention
Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. No smoking. Prevent dust accumulation. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting/equipment. Take precautionary measures against static discharge.
