Additional information
Exposure to the substance in a closed or poorly ventilated area can be harmful. Methylene chloride can be metabolized to carbon monoxide (CO), resulting in a high affinity for hemoglobin. This complex is called carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) and results in a decrease in the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood. This product can be absorbed through the skin, causing systemic effects.
