Hazard statements
H224 Extremely flammable liquid and vapor. H300 Mortal in case of ingestion. H360 May impair fertility or harm the fetus (fetus-toxic and teratogenic effects). H373 May cause damage to organs (if swallowed or inhaled, damage to eyes and central nervous system).
Precautionary statements
P210 Keep away from sources of heat, sparks, open flame or hot surfaces. No Smoking. P233 Keep container tightly closed. P240 Grounding / equipotential bonding of vessel and receiving equipment. P241 Use electrical, ventilating or light / flameproof materials. P242 Use only non-sparking tools. P243 Take precautionary measures against static discharges. P260 Do not breathe dust / fume / gas / mist / vapors / spray. P264 Wash skin thoroughly after handling. P270 Do not eat, drink or smoke during use. P271 Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. 1 P280 Wear protective gloves / goggles / face mask. P301 + P310 + P330 IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTER immediately. Rinse mouth. P303 + P361 + P353 IF ON SKIN (or hair): Immediately remove all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water / shower. P304 + P340 + P311 IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep position in a cool, dry place. Call a TOXICOLOGY CENTER / doctor. P307 + P311 IF exposed: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor / physician. P362 Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. P370 + P378 In case of fire: Use dry sand, dry chemical or alcohol resistant foam for extinguishing. P403 + P233 Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep the recipient hermetically sealed. P403 + P235 Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep in a cool place. P405 Keep locked up. P501 Dispose of contents / container to an authorized waste disposal plant.. Other Dangers. Note: The classification assignment is based on human experience, rather than strictly applying the classification criteria set out in the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulation Special Provision 279. Risks Colorless liquid, with a gentle odor characteristic of alcohol in its pure form. Raw methanol may have a repulsive pungent odor. Hygroscopic (moisture absorbent). LIQUID AND FLAMMABLE VAPOR: It burns with a clear and clear flame, almost invisible in the light of the day, or a flame of light blue color. It can decompose at high temperatures forming carbon monoxide and formaldehyde. In closed spaces there is danger of toxicity. It depresses the central nervous system after inhalation, skin absorption, or ingestion. It can cause headache, nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and lack of coordination. Serious visual effects, including increased sensitivity to light, blurred vision, blindness, can develop without symptoms for a period of 8-24 hours. It can also cause coma or death. IRRITANT: Causes eye irritation. Risk of aspiration. Vomiting the fluid can cause aspiration into the lungs. POSSIBLE REPRODUCTION DANGER: Based on tests performed on animals, it may cause fetal toxicity (toxicity to the fetus during late stages of pregnancy, often through the placenta), and teratogenic effects (causing malformations in the fetus).
