Potential health effects
Eyes: This product may cause eye irritation upon contact. Avoid contact with eyes. Skin: This product may cause mild skin irritation upon direct contact. If hot material strikes the skin, immediately cool with cold water before attempting removal. Inhalation: Inhalation of vapors (generated at high temperatures only) or mist from this product may cause mild irritation of the upper respiratory tract. Excessive inhalation may cause local irritation, dizziness and nausea. Ingestion: Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. First Aid Thoroughly flush affected area with large quantities of water. Remove and wash all contaminated clothing before use. Inhalation: If overexposure occurs, remove victim to fresh air immediately. If breathing has stopped, apply artificial respiration and administer oxygen if necessary. Seek medical attention immediately. Eye Contact: Flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids open. Seek medical attention immediately. Skin Contact: Flush with water while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash exposed portions of the skin with soap and water. SECTION 5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES This product does not pose an unusual fire fighting problem. It will burn if involved in a fire. Oxides of sulfur, carbon monoxide/dioxide, calcium and other organic/inorganic compounds may be formed during combustion. Use foam, dry chemicals, CO2, sand/earth to extinguish fire. Water should only be used to cool the fire exposed container as the product may float and reignite on the surface of the water and possibly cause the fire to spread. Do not enter confined fire space without full bunker gear (helmet with face shield, bunker coats, gloves and rubber boots), including a positive-pressure NIOSH approved self-contained breathing apparatus. SECTION 6: MEASURES FOR ACCIDENTAL RELEASES Put on protective clothing before starting the clean up. Contain spill and stop the leak at the source if safe to do so and notify the appropriate authorities of the spill. Material may burn although not readily ignitable. Use cautious judgment when cleaning up large spills. Soak up small spills with a non-combustible absorbent. Large spills can be removed by a vacuum truck or pump to storage vessels. Flush area with large amounts of water to in-house treatment system to remove trace residues. Do not directly flush to the sewer or surface waters. Dispose of the material in accordance with federal, state and local area regulations. SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling: Use good engineering practices to establish good ventilation. For normal use, wear rubber gloves, coveralls, boots and gloves. If a mist of this material is present or the ventilation is poor then use vapor cartridge type respirator and a mechanical exhaust. Do not eat or drink while handling the material. Wash hands thoroughly with soap before eating. Storage: Do not transfer the material to unmarked containers. Store in closed containers. Store product at 60 to 90F / 16-32C temperature. DO NOT FREEZE OR DAMAGE TO PRODUCT WILL OCCUR. SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROL AND PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT Use oil resistant rubber gloves, boots, coveralls and goggles under normal use. Local exhaust, ventilation, and vapor cartridge type respirator are required for spray areas. SECTION 9: PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance: Thixotropic emulsion, beige/amber color Odor: Slight amine odor Boiling Point: >212F / 100 C Flash Point: Not flammable Specific Gravity @ 59F/15 C: 0.95 Water Solubility: Slight PH (neat): 8.4 Viscosity @ 77F/25C: 2000 CPS; + OR- 500 CPS Vapor Pressure @ 68F/ 20 C: >0.003 mm Hg
