Emergency Overview NOTES TO PHYSICIAN: Following trichloroethylene overexposure, epinephrine or other stimulant may cause ventricular arrhythmia due to potentiation of endogenous epinephrine. Ethyl alcohol markedly augments the health effects of trichloroethylene.
Potential health effects
Eye Contact May cause irritation, lacrimation and pain. Skin Contact Skin contact may cause mild irritation. Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause dermatitis. Ingestion May cause vomiting, loss of consciousness, central nervous system depression, and irritation of gastrointestinal tract. Vomiting may cause pulmonary aspiration. Inhalation Inhalation may cause vomiting, unconsciousness, central nervous system depression, and death. (cont'd)
