Section 2
SECTION 2: Hazards identification
Emergency Overview DANGER! Flammable, high-pressure gas. May form explosive mixture with air. Can cause rapid suffocation. May cause dizziness and drowsiness. Self-contained breathing apparatus may be required by rescue workers.
Principle Routes of Exposure
Inhalation. THRESHOLD LIMIT VALUE: TLV-TWA Data from 2004 Guide to Occupational Exposure Values (ACGIH). TLV-TWAs should be used as a guide in the control of health hazards and not as fine lines between safe and dangerous concentrations. EFFECTS OF A SINGLE (ACUTE) OVEREXPOSURE: INHALATION: May be mildly irritating to mucous membranes. May cause dizziness. At high concentrations may cause drowsiness, headache, dizziness, excitation, excess salivation, vomitting, and unconsciousness. Lack of oxygen can cause death. SKIN CONTACT: This product is a gas. SKIN No evidence of adverse effects from available information. ABSORPTION: SWALLOWING: A highly unlikely route of exposure. This product is a gas at room temperature and pressure. EYE CONTACT: Relatively non-irritating. EFFECTS OF REPEATED (CHRONIC) OVEREXPOSURE: Repeated or prolonged exposure may cause dermatitis. OTHER EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: None currently known.
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure
OVEREXPOSURE The skin irritating properties of the material may aggravate an existing dermatitis. NOTE: This product contains low concentrations of Carbon Monoxide which may cause nervous system damage at very high concentrations. SIGNIFICANT LABORATORY DATA WITH POSSIBLE RELEVANCE TO HUMAN HEALTH HAZARD EVALUATION: None currenlty known. CARCINOGENICITY: Classified A4 (Not classifiable for human or animal.) by ACGIH, 3 (Not classifiable for human.) by IARC [Ethylene]. Classified A4 (Not classifiable for human or animal.) by ACGIH, 3 (Not classifiable for human.) by IARC [Propylene].
