SECTION 2: Hazards identification
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW Solid pellets with slight or no odor. Spilled pellets can create a slipping hazard. Can burn in a fire creating dense toxic smoke. Molten plastics can cause severe thermal burns. Fumes produced during melt processing may cause eye, skin and respiratory tract irritation. Secondary operations, such as grinding, sanding or sawing, can produce dust which may present an explosion or respiratory hazard.
Potential health effects
EYE: Solids or dusts may cause irritation or scratch the surface of the eye. SKIN CONTACT: Not irritating. Rubbing may cause irritation similar to sand or dust. SKIN ABSORPTION: Unlikely to occur. Material is a dry sold. INGESTION: The material is believed to present very little hazard if swallowed. INHALATION: Exposure to dust is not expected to present a hazard. CHRONIC EFFECTS/CARCINIGENICITY: None known
