Potential health effects
Inhalation Inhalation of fumes or mists may cause irritation of the nose and throat, shortness of breath, fainting, nausea and headaches. Ingestion Swallowing may cause nausea and vomiting. Eyes Eye contact causes irritation. Chronic: Repeated contact may cause sensitization in some individuals. The Methacrylate monomer used was positive in the mouse lymphoma mutagenicity assay, but negative in the Ames assay. The mouse lymphoma assay produces a high incidence of false positives, so there is reason to believe that this study was a false positive finding.
