SECTION 2: Hazards identification
Toxicity: Exposure to 2-butoxyethanol can cause nausea, dizziness, vomiting, malaise, incoordination, diarrhea, weakness, eye redness and swelling of conjunctiva.
Principle Routes of Exposure
Eye and skin contact, ingestion, inhalation. Signs and Symptoms of Exposure: Glycol gives initial central nervous system stimulation followed by depression. Ingestion may cause nausea and vomiting. Inhaling may cause mild irritation to the nose, throat and respiratory tract and may result in central nervous system (CNS) depression. May cause pain, redness or swelling of the eyes and excessive blinking and tear production. May cause skin irritation. May cause inflammation of mucous membranes and irritation. Medical Conditions Recognized as Being Preexisting eye, skin and respiratory disorders may be aggravated by overexposure to this product. Aggravated by Exposure:
