SECTION 2: Hazards identification
EFFECTS OF SINGLE OVEREXPOSURE: SWALLOWING: Causes irritation to the mouth, throat and gastro-intestinal tract, resulting in discomfort in the mouth, throat, chest and abdomen, with diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, faintness, dizziness, and weakness. With large amounts, hemorrhage may occur in the gastro-intestinal tract. Aspiration into the lungs may occur during ingestion or vomiting, resulting in lung injury. SKIN ABSORPTION: Prolonged or widespread skin contact may result in absorption of potentially harmful amounts of material. INHALATION: Vapor or mist from heated material may cause irritation of the respiratory tract, experienced as nasal discomfort and discharge with chest pain and coughing. Nausea and vomiting may occur. There may be difficulty in breathing. SKIN CONTACT: Causes mild irritation to the intact and abraded skin, seen as mild local redness and swelling. EYE CONTACT: Liquid causes irritation, experienced as stinging, excess blinking and tear production, with excess redness and swelling of the conjunctiva. Corneal injury may occur. EFFECTS OF REPEATED OVEREXPOSURE: None currently known.
