2.3 Other hazards
Diisopropylphenyl Isocyanate (28178-42-9) may be formed in blends of typical esters at elevated temperatures 140 – 176°F (60 – 120°C). Isocyanate vapors or mist can irritate (burning sensation) the mucous membranes in the respiratory tract (nose, throat, lungs) causing runny nose, sore throat, coughing, chest discomfort, shortness of breath and reduced lung function (breathing obstruction).
