Principle Routes of Exposure
Inhalation, Ingestion, Skin Absorption, Eye Contact Target Organs: Respiratory System, Reproductive System and Pulmonary System. Inhalation: Toxic by inhalation. Causes irritation to the respiratory system, coughing and shortness of breath. May cause CNS stimulation and depression (fatigue, dizziness, coma, and death). Skin: Causes severe skin burns. Corrosive to skin (Category 1A). May also cause dermatitis. Eye: Causes serious, possibly permanent eye damage. May aggravate existing conditions. Ingestion: Toxic by ingestion (Category 4 Oral). High doses may cause CNS depression. VOC: 2.96 lb/gal (VOC present as 1-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-benzene). 1-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-benzene is listed as a VOC-exempt solvent.
