SECTION 2: Hazards identification
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: WARNING! Causes eye burns. May cause allergic skin reaction. Causes skin burns. Flammable liquid and vapor. Vapor harmful. Harmful if swallowed. Causes nose and throat irritation.
Principle Routes of Exposure
Eye contact • Inhalation • Skin contact • Skin absorption • Ingestion Target Organs Potentially • Skin Affected by Exposure: • Respiratory Tract • Central nervous system • Eyes • Kidneys • Liver • Blood • Lungs
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure
Skin disorders. • Respiratory disorders, including but not limited to asthma and bronchitis. • Eye disorders. • Liver disease • Kidney disease • Immediate (Acute) Health Effects by Route of Exposure: Inhalation Toxicity: Vapor harmful. May affect the brain or nervous system causing dizziness, headache or nausea. May cause allergic respiratory reaction. Skin Contact: Corrosive to skin tissue. Can cause chemical burns. Skin Absorption: May be harmful if absorbed through skin. Eye Contact: Can cause severe irritation. Eye contact may result in corneal injury. Symptoms may include discomfort or pain, excess blinking and tear production, with marked redness and swelling of the conjunctiva. Temporary vision impairment (cloudy or blurred vision) is possible. Ingestion Toxicity: Harmful if swallowed. Aspiration of material into the lungs can cause chemical pneumonitis which can be fatal. This product may produce corrosive damage to the gastrointestinal tract if it is swallowed. Long-Term (Chronic) Health Effects: Carcinogenicity: Possible cancer hazard. Contains ethylbenzene which may cause cancer based on animal data. (Risk of cancer depends on duration and level of exposure.) Reproductive and Xylene may cause adverse reproductive and/or developmental effects. Pregnant Developmental Toxicity: women may be at an increased risk from exposure. Mutagenicity: Xylene has been shown to be positive in mutagenicity assays. Inhalation: NOTICE: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. Overexposure may cause lung damage. Skin Contact: Skin sensitization, characterized by redness, inflammation, itching and/or burning may result from prolonged or repeated contact with this material. Skin Absorption:
Contains
Alkoxysilane. Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause kidney damage
