Ingestion: Will immediately cause corrosion of and permanent damage to the gastro-intestinal tract. Inhalation: Fumes are corrosive to the respiratory tract and will cause severe coughing, sore throat and difficulty in breathing. Fluid buid up on the lung (pulmonary oedema) may occur up to 48 hours after exposure and could prove fatal. Longlasting effect: Acute effects predominate and their severity is such that significant repeated or prolonged exposure is unlikely. Repeated exposure to high levels produces adverse effects on lung and teeth.
