Principle Routes of Exposure
Ingestion Effects of Over Exposure: Impaired mental alertness. Threshold Limit Value: Codeine must be determined for each patient individually. 7. Side Effects: May include any of the following: Drowsiness; Light-headedness; dry mouth; urinary retention; constipation; blurred or double vision; depression. Possible Adverse Effects: Anaphylaxis, severe skin reactions; delirium; hallucinations; excitement; liver toxicity. Symptoms of Overdose: Nausea; vomiting; dry mouth; vertigo; weakness; stupor; coma; seizures; lethargy.
