SECTION 2: Hazards identification

OSHA EMERGENCY OVERVIEW Appearance Odor Chemical Family Clear, yellow to amber liquid. Mild odor. Aqueous Mixture ROUTES OF ENTRY Inhalation Skin Contact Eyes No Yes POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS EYES Irritating to eyes. Prolonged eye exposure may cause tearing, redness, discomfort, and corneal injury. SKIN May be irritating to skin. Prolonged contact may cause drying and cracking of the skin. INGESTION Low acute oral toxicity if swallowed. May cause irritation of mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, and gastrointestinal tract; and gastric disturbances such as nausea and vomiting. Aspiration into the lungs during swallowing or vomiting may cause lung inflammation or other lung injury. INHALATION Mists or aerosols may cause respiratory tract irritation if inhaled. Symptoms may include sore throat, coughing, difficulty in breathing, shortness of breath, headache, and nausea.
