SECTION 2: Hazards identification
OSHA EMERGENCY OVERVIEW Appearance Odor Chemical Family Clear, pale yellow to straw-colored, viscous liquid. Mild odor. Aqueous Mixture ROUTES OF ENTRY Inhalation Skin Contact Eyes No Yes POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS EYES Moderately to severely irritating to eyes. May cause eye pain, excess blinking, tear production and redness. Prolonged contact may cause conjunctival swelling and chemical burns. SKIN Slightly irritating to skin. Local redness may be caused by brief contact. Prolonged contact, especially from soaked clothing or beneath jewelry, etc., may cause more severe irritation with swelling and redness, possibly resulting in dermatitis and drying and cracking of the skin. INGESTION May cause irritation to mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, and gastro-intestinal tract, if swallowed. May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and gastro-intestinal disturbances. Aspiration into the respiratory tract may injure lungs. INHALATION Mists, aerosols, and dust residues may cause respiratory tract irritation, if inhaled.
