OSHA EMERGENCY OVERVIEW Appearance Odor Chemical Family Dark blue liquid. Sweet / alcohol odor. Aqueous Mixture ROUTES OF ENTRY Inhalation Skin Contact Eyes Yes POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS EYES Irritation to eyes caused by contact with product, with stinging or burning sensation and pain. Prolonged exposures may cause conjunctivitis or burns to the cornea, possibly with permanent damage to vision. Exposure to vapors may also cause eye irritation. SKIN May be irritating to skin, possibly causing a burning sensation. May cause allergic skin reactions and sensitization in susceptible individuals. May be absorbed through the skin. Prolonged exposure may defat the skin, producing dermatitis, with drying and cracking of the skin. May aggravate existing skin conditions, such as rashes and allergies. INGESTION May be harmful if swallowed. May cause irritation to the gastrointestinal tract, and gastric disturbances, including nausea, cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea. Ingestion of significant amounts may cause central nervous system depression and inebriation, and may cause liver and kidney damage. Aspiration into the lungs during ingestion or vomiting may cause lung inflammation and other injury. INHALATION Mists, aerosols, and vapors may cause respiratory tract irritation, if inhaled. Excessive inhalation exposures may cause central nervous system effects, including drowsiness, dizziness, headache, nausea, and loss of coordination.
