This product is not dangerous goods under the Australian Dangerous goods code but is classified as hazardous according to the classification criteria of NOHSC:1008(2004), Approved Criteria For Classifying Hazardous Substances and the National Code of Practice for the Preparation of Material Safety Data Sheets 2nd Edition [NOHSC:2011(2003)].
Potential health effects
Although this material contains preservatives that could be hazardous, the concentrations present are below those considered hazardous under NOHSC classification criteria. However, the ingredient monoethanolamine Lauryl sulphate has the following hazard classification at the concentration present in this product: [Xi]: Irritant R41: Risk of serious damage to eyes Swallowed: Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments. Eye: Irritant to eyes in undiluted state, and upon prolonged contact. Skin: Moderate irritant in undiluted state, and upon prolonged contact. Inhaled: A single prolonged inhalation exposure is not likely to cause adverse effects. If misted may cause mild irritation of mucous membranes, nose, eyes and throat.
