Principle Routes of Exposure
Ingestion, eye contact and/or skin contact Ingestion: Ingestion of extraction buffer may cause nausea, vomiting, restlessness, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, weakness, blurred vision, dyspnoea, hypotension, tachycardia, bradycardia, tachypnoea, hypothermia, acidosis and convulsions. Skin contact: Contact with skin may cause irritation. Eye contact: Contact with eyes may cause irritation. Hazardous decomposition products: When exposed to fire, produces normal products of combustion. Unusual fire, explosion and reactivity hazards: The LumiraDx Extraction Buffer contains Sodium azide, which may over a period of time react with metal in plumbing systems to form an accumulation of explosive metallic azide, therefore it should be discarded with a large quantity of water.
