Carbon black is listed as possibly carcinogenic to humans by IARC. The lung tumors in rats are based on "lung overload" and not the specific chemical effect of carbon black. Under the anticipated conditions of use for this product, carbon black is not respirable. As such, the IARC designation is not applicable. As always, should this product be used in a way that produces product dust, appropriate engineering measures should be implemented to minimize dust inhalation.
