Other hazards which do not result in classification
The criteria for the classification of Corrosive to Metals (as per the OSHA implementation of the GHS) is a corrosion rate on either steel or aluminum surfaces exceeding 6.25mm / year at test temperatures of 55°C (131°F). Therefore, this compound does not meet the OSHA definition of Corrosive to Metals. However, the Merk index reports SbF5 as slowly corroding glass, copper and lead. The US Coast Guard Department of Transportation further reports severe corrosion of metals (except steel) and glass when moisture is present. (<Slowly= and <Severe= are not further defined in the PubChem article citing these sources.).
