EMERGENCY OVERVIEW No unusual spill hazard, minor fire hazard; moderate health risk by inhalation. Gray to dark gray powder.
Potential health effects
EYES: May cause irritation. SKIN: May cause skin irritation. INHALATION: Tungsten may or may not cause transient or permanent lung damage. The inhalation of inorganic tin fumes or dust may cause an apparent benign pneumoconiosis called stannosis which is reported not to be disabling. INGESTION: Not available.
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure
Exposure to tungsten dust or fume may aggravate chronic respiratory disease. CHRONIC OVEREXPOSURE: Not known. Periodic medical examinations are recommended for individuals regularly exposed to dust. ACUTE OVEREXPOSURE: Inhalation and skin effects generally occur in conjunction with exposure to other dusts. CARCINOGENICITY: None. Pg. 2
