SECTION 2: Hazards identification

OSHA Em ergency Overview: WARNING! Flam mable. Harmful. Ski n Sensitizer. Irritant. Ap plies to hazardo us ingredients :

Principle Routes of Exposure

Eyes. Skin. I nhalation. Ingestion

Potential health effects

Eye Contact: Can cause moderate irritation, burni ng sensation, tearing, redness, and swelling. Overexposure may cause lacrimation, conjunctivitis, corneal damage and permanent i njury. Ski n Contact: Can cause ski n irri tation; itching, redness, rashes, hives, burning, and swelli ng. Allergic reactions are possible. May cause skin sensitizati on, an allergic reaction, which becomes evident on reexposure to this m aterial. Inhalation: Respiratory tract irritant. High concentration m ay cause dizziness, headache, and anaesthetic effects. M ay cause respiratory sensitization w ith asthm a-like symptoms i n susceptibl e individuals. Ingestion: Causes irritation, a burning sensation of the m outh, throat and gastrointestinal tract and abdominal pain. Chronic Skin Contact: Prolonged skin contact may lead to burning associated with severe reddening, sw elling, and possible tissue destruction. Target Organs: Eyes. Skin. R espiratory system . Digestive system. L iver. Ki dney. Olfactory Function. Signs/Sym ptoms: Overexposure can cause headaches, di zzi ness, nausea, and vom iting. Aggravation of Pre-Existing Individuals w ith pre-exi sti ng skin disorders, asthma, allergies or known Conditions: sensitization m ay be m ore susceptible to the effects of this product. To Top of page SECTION 4 : FIRST AID MEASURES Eye Contact: Immediately fl ush eyes with plenty of w ater for at least 15 to 20 mi nutes. Ensure adequate flushing of the eyes by separating the eyeli ds with fingers. Get immedi ate m edical attention. Skin Contact: Immediately wash skin with plenty of soap and water for 15 to 20 m inutes, while rem oving contaminated clothing and shoes. Get m edical attention if i rritation develops or persists. Inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathi ng, give artificial respiration or give oxygen by trained personnel. Seek imm ediate m edical attention. Ingestion: If swallow ed, do NOT induce vom iting. Call a physi ci an or poison control center immedi ately. Never give anything by m outh to an unconscious person. Other First Aid: Due to possible aspiration into the lungs, DO NOT induce vomiti ng if ingested. Provide a glass of water to dilute the material in the stomach. If vom iting occurs naturally, have the person lean forward to reduce the risk of aspiration. To Top of page SECTION 5 : FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Fire: Flam mable. Fine mists explosive below flash point. Flash Point: 50 °F (10°C) Flash Point M ethod: Tag Closed Cup (TC C) Upper Flammable or Explosive 12.5% Limit: Lower Flammable or Explosive 2.1% Limit: Auto Ignition Temperature: Not determ ined. Extinguishing Media: Use carbon dioxide (CO2) or dry chem ical when fighting fires involving this material. Unsuitable Media: Water may cause frothing. Fire Fighting I nstructions: Evacuate area of unprotected personnel. Use cold water spray to cool fire exposed containers to minimize risk of rupture. Do not enter confined fire space without full protective gear. If possible, contain fire run -off water. Protective Equipment: As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equi valent) and full protective gear. Unusual Fire Hazards: Sealed containers at elevated temperatures m ay rupture explosively and spread fire due to polym erization. To Top of page SECTION 6 : ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Leak Response: Flam mable, eliminate ignition sources. Vapors can form an igni table mixture with air. Vapors can flow along surfaces to a distant ignition source and flash back. Ventilate area. Use proper personal protective equipm ent as listed in secti on 8. Personal Precautions: Evacuate area and keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering the spill area. Spil l Cl eanup Measures: Absorb spill with inert material (e.g., dry sand or earth), then place in a chemi cal waste container. Provide ventilation. Collect spill with a non-sparking tool. Place into a sui table container for disposal. Clean up spills im mediately observing precautions in the protecti ve equipment secti on. After rem oval, flush spill area with soap and water to rem ove trace residue. Environm ental Precautions: Avoid runoff i nto storm sewers, ditches, and waterways. Large Spill: Pump or shovel to storage/salvage vessels. Other Precautions: Add inhibitor to prevent polym erization. To Top of page SECTION 7 : HANDLING and STORAGE Handling: Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapor, aerosol or mist. Material will accumulate static charges which m ay cause an electrical spark (ignition source). Use proper grounding procedures. Do not reuse containers w ithout proper cleaning or reconditioning.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from sources of heat, combusti ble materials, direct sunlight, and incompatible substances. Keep container tightly cl osed when not in use. Hygiene Practices: Wash thoroughly after handling. Special Handling Procedures: Provide appropriate ventil ation/respiratory protection against decomposition products (see Section 10) during welding/flame cutting operations and to protect against dust during sanding/gri nding of cured product. Hazardous liquid or vapor residue may remai n in emptied container. Do not reuse, heat, burn, pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, expose to sparks, flame, or ignition sources of empty containers without proper comm ercial cleaning or reconditioning. To Top of page SECTION 8 : EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION Engineering Controls: Use appropriate engi neering control such as process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, general dilution ventilation, or other engineering controls to control airborne levels below recomm ended exposure limits. Where such systems are not effective w ear suitabl e personal protective equipment, which perform s satisfactorily and meets
