Vapor and liquid are corrosive to eyes, respiratory system, and skin. HMIS Hazard (Scale 4 = Extreme, 3 = High, 2 = Moderate, 1 = Slight, 0 = Least) Health: 3 Flammability: 1 Reactivity: 2 Carcinogenicity: None Other Health Related Comments: Ammonium hydroxide investigated as a mutagen; ammonia vapor as both a tumorigen and mutagen. 4. First Aid Measures Eye Contact: Immediately flush with water for 15 minutes. Call a doctor. Skin Contact: Immediately flush skin with lots of water for 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Drink lots of water. Follow with dilute vinegar or fruit juice. Call a doctor immediately Inhalation: Move to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
