To our knowledge, this product does not present any particular risk, provided it is handled in accordance with good occupational hygiene and safety practice. Amorphous silica is not classified as carcinogenic to humans (Group 3) however inhaled silica crystals in the form of quartz during occupational activity is carcinogenic to humans (Group 1, IARC) Therefore, amorphous silica should be treated as if it possessed the same hazards as the form crystalline, To our knowledge, the chemical, physical and toxicological properties have not been fully studied.
