Dust may cause mechanical irritation to eyes, nose, throat, and lungs. Direct contact may result in corneal injury. Individuals with lung disease (e.g. bronchitis, emphysema, COPD, pulmonary disease) can be aggravated by exposure. At elevated temperatures, this product will cause thermal burns and may release toxic hydrogen sulfide (H2S). Hydrogen sulfide is a fatal and highly flammable gas with a rotten egg odor that quickly causes odor fatigue. Explosion can occur if hydrogen sulfide is allowed to accumulate in the headspace of closed systems in the presence of an ignition source. 2.4.
