EMERGENCY OVERVIEW DANGER. CAUSES EYE AND SKIN BURNS . HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED. Do not mix with amines; nitrosamines may be formed . Nitrosamines are potentially carcinogenic . May cause respiratory tract irritation .
Principle Routes of Exposure
Skin contact Eye contact Inhalation Eyes. Skin. Inhalation. Ingestion. Corrosive. May cause permanent damage. Corrosive. Causes permanent eye damage, including blindness. May cause irritation and corrosive effects to nose, throat and respiratory tract. Ingestion Corrosive. Causes burns to mouth, throat and stomach. Ingestion of large amounts may cause poisoning. Symptoms include: methemoglobinemia, cyanosis (blue skin), marked fall in blood pressure, leading to collapse, coma and possibly death. .
