EMERGENCY OVERVIEW DANGER. CORROSIVE. CAUSES SKIN AND EYE BURNS. HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED. HARMFUL IF INHALED . Do not mix with amines; nitrosamines may be formed . Nitrosamines are potentially carcinogenic .
Principle Routes of Exposure
Skin contact. Eye contact. Inhalation. Ingestion. Eye contact: Corrosive. Causes permanent eye damage, including blindness. Skin contact: Corrosive. May cause permanent damage. Inhalation: May cause irritation and corrosive effects to nose, throat and respiratory tract. Ingestion: Corrosive. Causes burns to mouth, throat and stomach. Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation . Ingestion of large amounts may cause poisoning. Symptoms include: methemoglobinemia, cyanosis (blue skin), marked fall in blood pressure, leading to collapse, coma and possibly death. .
