SECTION 2: Hazards identification
Emergency Overview e Green odorless granules. Contains material that may cause target organ damage, based on animal data May cause irritation to eyes and skin. Dust may cause irritation to the upper respiratory tract Low oral toxicity, but ingestion may cause irritation to the gastrointestinal tract.
Principle Routes of Exposure
Eye contact, Skin contact, Ingestion, Inhalation Effects of Acute Exposure/Potential Health Effects: General: This health hazard assessment is based on information available from commercial and scientific literature. - Eye Contact: ° Dust may cause irritation to the eyes. e May cause physical abrasion in contact with the eyes. Inhalation: ° Unlikely to be hazardous by inhalation unless present as a dust. e High concentrations of dust may be irritating to the respiratory tract. ° Dust may enter the lungs and be slow to clear. 7 ° High concentrations of very finely divided dust may produce symptoms of ‘metal fume fever’. This condition is characterized by influenza type symptoms occurring a few hours after exposure and lasting up to 48 hours. Skin Contact: e May cause irritation to the skin. ° Repeated or prolonged skin contact may cause physical abrasion in contact with skin. ingestion: e Low oral toxicity, but ingestion may cause irritation to the gastrointestinal tract. e May cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. ° Ingestion of large amounts may produce more serious effects. Skin Absorption: e This product will probably not be absorbed through the skin. Effects of Chronic Exposure: inhalation: ¢ The components of this material have been in use for many years with no evidence of adverse effects but repeated exposure by inhalation to high levels of dust may produce adverse effects on the upper respiratory tract.
