SECTION 2: Hazards identification

Prevention

Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. - No smoking. Wash thoroughly after handling. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.

Response

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/ attention. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

Storage

Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool.

Potential chronic health

Long term exposure to ethanol vapour may lead to symptoms of alcoholism. Ethanol is a central nervous system depressant. Inhalation Spray/mist may irritate the respiratory system. Aspiration into the lungs during swallowing or vomiting may lead to chemical pneumonitis. Ingestion May irritate stomach and/or cause gastric upset. Ingestion of moderate quantities can lead to ethanol intoxication. Skin Will degrease the skin and may lead to irritation or dermatitic effects. Eye Mildly irritant if splashed into the eyes. High vapour concentrations may also irritate the eyes.
